Yay! Coming Soon... "Story Time, With Patrick and Friends!"

Hello, my LOVElies!

Here is a little more information, about my upcoming internet radio show, "Story Time, With Patrick and Friends".

As of now, the show is going to be 1.5 hours (we might trim that to 1 hour...still playing with that). This will be a hybrid interview/call-in program. Nothing too innovative, there. Although, you will see how the concept, of the show, is going to inform the format.

So, here are some of the basics, behind the structure and concept of the show...with more to follow, as we get closer. Without further ado...

We all remember being read to. How nurturing and loving and empowering, it feels. Some of the best literature, that we have ever been in contact with...is children's literature. This is where it's at, kids. Most of us still remember our favorite childhood stories, and probably have some new favorites.

This is an integral piece of the "Story Time, With Patrick and Friends" formula - the sharing and connecting, over stories that inspire us, empower us, energize us, renew us, nurture and nourish us...stories that remind us of our goodness, and of the goodness of the world. Stories that helps us remember ourselves as LOVE, and help us remember each other, and our world...as LOVE.

This is the core, of everything I do. This remembering, that we are whole, and we are remembering that we are whole. We human blessings learn through story. We remember, through story. We are constantly telling stories. Our whole world is a story, that we are creating, and when we look at the stories, that we are telling ourselves, we are looking into ourselves.

In our radio show, I will be inviting my friends...well known and soon-to-be well known...to share one (maybe two) of their favorite childhood stories, with all of us. They will actually be reading to us, or...in the case of certain older stories (and in the hands of a good story teller)...telling us stories, in their own words.

They are going to read to us, and give us the opportunity, to be read to. This, of course, will all be "live" (archived for later listening), and I will be encouraging listeners to tucked in, with a cup of tea (or hot coco)...and ready to be nurtured and loved. I know that this is going to be a very healing experience, for many. I believe that it will be inspiring and enlivening, for everyone.

Each show will start with me, saying a few (very few words) about the power of story and myth, and the power of being aware of our own stories (again, very few words...just a set-up). Then I will introduce our friend (sometimes, friends), and talk a little about them (there will also be bio info, on the show page...and a link, to where you can get the book, should you want to have it, to read along).

After introductions have been made, I will ask them to, briefly, set up the book, that they are reading, why they chose it, and a little of its impact, in their lives. Then, when they are ready (and everyone's all comfy), they will read their favorite childhood story and/or children's book, and we will have the opportunity to be active listeners...to be consciously open to the whole experience.

After the story has been read, we'll pause, for station break (and potty break). When we get back, I will interview our friend, for a bit, and then open the lines, for callers to call in and connect. There is so much power, in this show, and this call-in/connect aspect is part of that power. This show is about story, and story is about connecting and sharing. I am so looking forward to facilitating this connection and this sharing.

In the next month, or so, I will be learning the ropes, of what coordinating our show. I will also be working on securing friends, for the show. It is my intention to have friends, from all walks of life, on this show. In the beginning, I am working on getting some more well-known folks, in the wellness/inspirational/motivational/metaphysical fields, but I am staying open to the flow of the show. More info, on all of this, as it becomes clear.

That's it, for now. I am super excited, and I am looking forward to exploring story, and stories...and to creating the space for connecting and sharing. This is going to be a fun and potentially, profound experience. It will, at least, be interesting, and that is perfect, in and of itself. I look forward to our time, together, and to having some of you, as my on-air, story-telling friends.

So, for now, you may want to start thinking of the stories, that inspired and impacted you. What are your favorite childhood stories? What stories made your world bigger? What ones made your world smaller? What stories made your world magical, dared you to dream, gave you hope? What stories stirred you and inspired you?

Just some questions, to get our adventure started. I am so excited to have adventures with all of you. Remember, every story lives within us. We are That, in which all stories are real and true. Join me, for "Story Time, With Patrick and Friends", and together, we'll remember what is already true...every story is worth telling, especially our own.

Blessings,

Patrick

  1. How wonderful! As an educator, I know how important it is to not only read, but to have someone read to you! Hopefully, someone will read The Velveteen Rabbit. That's my favorite book and has many life lessons for us. Read On!,,
