No one is hurtful, unless they are hurting and/or scared. This includes us. Imagine if you replaced "hurtful", with "forgetful"...as in forgetful that we are LOVE, and LOVE is all. Imagine that.
Imagine that hurtful people are simply forgetful people...forgetting that they are perfect and whole, as they are...forgetting that they are everything they seek...forgetting that they are LOVE. Imagine that hurtful people simply have a kind of amnesia.
Imagine what you would do, how you would act, how you think and feel...if someone approached you, and was "forgetful" toward/with you. Imagine that you came across someone, wandering around, being "forgetful" with everyone they met. Imagine meeting someone with amnesia.
What would you do? You wouldn't take it personally. Would you? No. You'd be gentle wouldn't you? You'd be kind and nurturing and helpful and re-assuring and all kinds of wonderful. Wouldn't you? I know you. You are wonderful. You would be the person I would want to meet, if I had amnesia. If I was "forgetful". Right?
Now, read those last two paragraphs, and swap out "forgetful" for "hurtful". Feel how they are interchangeable. All of a sudden, "hurtful" doesn't seem as hurtful, when it is interchangeable with "forgetful". Just something to imagine.
Imagine yourself, remembering all of this, the next time someone is "hurtful". Imagine you, not taking it personally. Imagine you, being gentle and kind and nurturing and re-assuring and all kinds of wonderful. You are wonderful. You would be the person, I would want to meet, if I had amnesia. If I was "hurtful". Right?
Yep. Imagine that!
